Course description
Training Introduction to Mindfulness
What is mindfulness? More than a meditation technique, mindfulness is a way of life. It helps you to re-connect with your inner capacity of being aware in the present moment, intentionally, and without judgment of whatever is here and now.
In this introductory training series, we will experience basic teachings and exercises of mindfulness; you will establish the foundation to start implementing mindfulness practice in your everyday life, one step at a time. As the well-known mindfulness trainer Jon Kabat Zinn puts it, “Life itself is the practice”.
The aim of the workshop is not to eliminate stress, anxiety, rumination or distraction. Instead, we learn ways to approach and cope with it, being fully present, and accepting what there is here first. Good decisions and changes can only be made when we first accept what it is already going on.
We focus on five important aspects of mindfulness practice. During the sessions, you will learn theoretical background and experiential practices on-site and between sessions.
Session 1: Attitude in mindfulness; breathing as an anchor
Session 2: Beginner's mind and body awareness
Session 3: Mindful movement
Session 4: Mindful communication
Commitment to all sessions is mandatory. To make the most of the training, you are also expected to practice between sessions.
After registering you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link to a short screening form. The trainer will decide upon your responses in this form:
- whether you can participate in this training. Student Training & Support will send you the acceptance mail and the Outlook invitations to your calendar
- or the trainer will e-mail you to advise you otherwise.
Please note: we require a minimum number of students to participate in this training. If too few have registered, then we will have to cancel the training unfortunately.
