Course description

Under the guidance of a certified Red Cross instructor, participants will refresh their knowledge and practical skills in administering First Aid. The course consists of three sessions, with the second session held outdoors for hands-on practice in a realistic environment.

Course Overview

Lesson 1: Basic Life Support (BLS) • Pediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS) • Problems with the Heart • Managing Unconsciousness

Lesson 2 (Outdoor Session):  Wounds and Bleeding • Burns • Fractures, Sprains, and Bruises • Hypothermia and Hyperthermia • Contact with Hazardous Plants and Animals

Lesson 3:  Fainting • Panic Attacks • Shortness of Breath • Diabetes Emergencies • Poisoning • Stings and Bites • Allergic Reactions • Stroke • Shock • Common Childhood Illnesses

EHBDD: "Eerste Hulp Bij Drank- en Drugsongevallen" is an optional module on providing first aid to persons with injuries related to alcohol or drugs usage.

WFA: Wilderness First Aid is an optional module on providing first aid in the wilderness or other remote areas with limited access to medical care
