Course description
New! Workshop & Get together: Balancing Grief & Study
With this workshop we hope to offer insights into the experience of grief. Together, we’ll explore common physical and emotional symptoms of grief, helping you understand what’s normal and what might feel unique to your situation.
Using two effective grief models, we’ll guide you in managing grief, creating space for it in your life, and addressing the question, “Am I grieving well?”
We’ll also dive into practical strategies for talking about grief—whether with course coordinators, group mates, or housemates—and navigate the dilemmas of sharing your feelings when you’re struggling.
Additionally, we’ll debunk some common myths about grief, offering clarity and support for your process.
The workshop is targeted to:
- students who are grieving,
- students that stand next to someone grieving,
- and representatives of study/ student associations.
With this initiative we aim to create a more informed and open space for grief at WUR. Feel welcome to join !
Please know: If you have recently lost someone very close to you, such as a family member, parent, or partner, it often takes time before you feel ready to join a grief group. This varies from person to person, but generally, it can be helpful to wait a few months.
Of course, you are always welcome for one-on-one counselling. You can find us here (link). In doubt if you are ready to join this workshop, email marloes.harkema@wur.nl.
